The ministry of Human Services is responsible for women's issues. The ministry provides advice and information to the minister and to other Alberta government departments; undertakes joint projects with other government departments, and with similar agencies in other jurisdictions; and promotes public and government awareness of issues of concern to women.

Federal-Provincial/Territorial (FPT) Ministers responsible for the Status of Women Annual Meeting
GATINEAU, QC – Federal/Provincial/Territorial (FPT) Ministers responsible for the Status of Women gathered in Gatineau, Quebec, on July 4 and 5, 2011, for their 29th annual meeting. They re-affirmed their steadfast commitment to ending violence against women and to improving women’s economic security. This report was commissioned by the Government of Manitoba on behalf of the Federal-Provincial-Territorial forum of senior officials responsible for the Status of Women committee.
