Yvonne Fritz was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in 1993 as Member for Calgary-Cross. As a 15-year veteran she served as a member of Treasury Board and chaired the Alberta Multiculturalism Commission. She sponsored three important Private Members´ Bills.
Mrs. Fritz served previously as Minister of Seniors and Community Supports, responsible for housing, and as Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Now elected to her fifth term as MLA, Yvonne Fritz is Minister of Children and Youth Services. Minister Fritz brings to her responsibilities a lifetime of public service and caring for others. Before entering provincial politics, she was a City of Calgary Alderman in one of Canada’s largest civic ridings and worked as a registered nurse for over 20 years.
Yvonne Fritz is married to Lanny; they have two grown children.
