For some students school completion can be jeopardized by educational, psychological and/or social challenges. Students who are connected to appropriate resources and/or guidance have support and are more resilient in difficult life circumstances.

Advancing Futures takes this strength-based approach to working with students. To that end, Advancing Futures has partnered with Resiliency Initiatives to administer a resiliency survey.

The resiliency survey is intended to help students discover their strengths and challenges, and will support them in building their own success plan. Advancing Futures will use the information gathered to review integrating additional resources into the program to help more students succeed.

This year the launch of the resiliency survey will be followed up by the Live Your Dream: Resiliency Conference in November 2008. The conference will provide Advancing Futures students with the opportunity to explore and build on their strengths through a number of interactive sessions.
