Darryl, born in 1996, is a polite, energetic and engaging youngster with brown hair, brown eyes, a sturdy build, and a happy smile.  Enjoying physical activity, he has been identified as a natural athlete, particularly on the soccer field.  He also takes pleasure in swimming lessons, Karate, dance, and his bowling league participation.   Rounding out his favored pastimes are cooking, Sunday School attendance, and playing on the computer or X-Box.   

Darryl benefits from a small class size in an adapted school program, where he receives academic and behavioral support.  He really enjoys school and can always be counted on to be up and ready to go in the morning!  Darryl responds very well to the structure, positive reinforcement, and supervision he receives - his teachers noting him to be a pleasure to have in class.  He is a strong reader and enjoys math.  He likes to socialize, and with support is making gains in his ability to interact more capably with his peers.      

Darryl requires a two parent or single parent adoptive family who are skilled, patient, nurturing, and supportive.  Having older siblings to interact with and have act as role models would be great for this youngster, as he will do best as the youngest or perhaps only child in the home.  Structure, supervision, and predictability within his family will see the best of him!  A family willing to assist him in remaining connected to his siblings would be very important to him, as would an ability to advocate for services now and into the future.
